Checking Google Analytics a few minutes ago, I noticed that I’d started getting some search traffic for the keywords “Russell Brunson”. I knew I ranked high for “contact Russell Brunson”, but when I’d checked last, Guru-Stalker.com was slipping lower on page 2 for just Russell’s name. Today, it’s in the #6 spot on page 1!

How did that happen? Good question. Until a few minutes before I logged into Google Analytics, I hadn’t manually updated the site in over three weeks. I’m not aware of any new inbound links to the site. So I have only two guesses:

1) Google recently picked up or added weight from some older links to the site.

2) The dynamic content in the RSS feed that’s displayed on the left side of the homepage has kept the site dynamic enough for Google to give it some ranking love. As I said above, I hadn’t manually updated the site in a while, but thanks to CaRP it’s been automatically updated several times every day.

BTW, I just added YouTube videos tagged with Russell’s name to the homepage and my “Russell Brunson” page. Those will be updating regularly too, thanks to CaRP’s new YouTube plugin.
