How To Stalk A Guru: Promote Their Products
Posted by Antone Roundy under Guru Stalking , Russell BrunsonMy first lesson in guru-stalking came from my target guru Russell Brunson’s own affiliate manager who taught that if you want to get in with Russell, one thing to do is promote his products. People who make a lot of sales for him are more likely to get his attention. I’m sure the same goes for any guru.
This is just a more specific application of the idea that a good way to establish contact with a potential JV partner, etc., is to start off not asking for a favor, but to begin by doing them a favor.
This worked for me when I told Shawn Casey that his emails were getting treated as spam (or more specifically as scams) because in the HTML version, his links were displaying as his final target URL, but the “href” of the links was pointing to a tracking URL which forwarded to the final target. He responded thanking me and admitting that they’d noticed their deliverability was down, but they hadn’t known why.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have any ideas in mind for “milking” that first contact at that point in time, but at least I learned that that kind of thing can get you in touch with a guru. And who knows — if we have further contact at some point, I may be able to solidify the contact by mentioning that.
So, how am I applying this lesson in my efforts to get in contact with Russell Brunson? I need to do more, but for now, I’ve added links to his free DotComSecrets DVD (which leads to a monthly magazine subscription) in a few places on my websites. Only one signup so far though…

I’ve created a new page on this site about Russell Brunson. For now, it contains notes about and links to a bunch of his products. I’ll add more to the page as time goes by.
