A few days ago I mentioned that promoting a guru’s products can help you get in contact with them — and that’s particularly true if they start sending you big commission checks. Using their products can also help, partially because it’s easier to promote products that you use. But there are other reasons. Here are a few:

  • The more familiar you are with their products, the more familiar you’ll be with their business — with what occupies their minds on a daily basis.
  • If you find bugs or opportunities for improvement in their products, you can suggest them, perhaps getting your name noticed.
  • You could even develop products that are complimentary to theirs, which would jump start you on the way towards joint venturing.
