You may not be able to contact a guru directly if they’ve never heard of you. As discussed previously, one way to get them to hear of you is to be one of their top affiliates. Another, if they hang out in forums or other online communities, is to find out where they hang out online and be active in the same places.
So I throw out this question to what Tim Bray calls the “LazyWeb” (at least that’s where I picked up the term, which basically means that rather than researching the answer to a question, you just throw it out to the web and wait for someone to answer): where does Russell Brunson hang out online? Could anyone tell me?
Of course, when becoming active in the communities they frequent, it’s as important not to be stalker there as in the real world. Provide real value to the community so that you’ll naturally stand out. Don’t just pounce on all of their posts, post suck-up or otherwise empty replies, etc. Prove that you’re more than just another toady for them to despise.
If the lazy web doesn’t reply, I’ll have to do some research…
